FTA for Rabies Leads to Warrant for Arrest

(NORTH PLATTE, Neb.) — In the early morning of September 12, 2025, Deputy Brown was advised by Nebraska State Patrol that they had received a License Plate Recognition match for a Devin Baker with an active warrant out of Lincoln County. The deputy was stationed near mm 183 on interstate 80 when she observed a vehicle similar to Mr. Bakers enter Fat Dogs parking lot.

While confirming the plate number with dispatch, Baker exited the vehicle through the rear passenger side door. While advising Baker of his active warrant, Deputy Bohlander arrived to assist. Baker made comments of not going back to jail. That’s when Baker attempted to run, but Deputy Bohlander deployed her taser.

Once the Deputies restrained Baker and placed him in a patrol car, a small bag of white crystalized powder was found and promptly tested utilizing TruNarc at Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

The active warrant was issued due to a Failure To Appear in court for a rabies violation that he was cited for on July 13, 2025. His next court appearance will be September 30 at 1:30 p.m.
