Class 3A Felony
Class 3A felonies in Nebraska encompass a range of offenses considered less severe than Class 3 felonies, but more serious than misdemeanors.
The penalties for a Class 3A felony in Nebraska are outlined in the Nebraska Revised Statute 28-105. The maximum penalty includes;
- Imprisonment: Up to three years.
- Fines: Up to $10,000.
- Restitution: Offenders may also be required to compensate victims for their losses.
Judges in Nebraska have discretion in sentencing for Class 3A felonies, allowing them to consider factors such as the offender’s criminal history and the circumstances surrounding the offense. This flexibility can lead to alternative sentencing options, including probation or treatment programs, rather than incarceration.
Editors Note;
Back in October of 2025, the defendant resigned from the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center after the sexual abuse allegations came to light. According to witnesses and affidavits, sexual activity among staff and even inmates has been evident for several years. This isn’t the first time they have come under fire; and we have not hesitated to report on it before.
