Juvenile shot, killed in Cheyenne

Laramie County Sheriff’s Office — Cheyenne, WY: At approximately 2:30 a.m. today, July 11, 2026, deputies from the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident near the 400 block of West Wallick in Cheyenne. A 15‑year‑old juvenile was pronounced deceased at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound. A 13‑year‑old juvenile was taken into custody in connection with the incident.

The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.

Pursuant to Wyoming juvenile confidentiality laws, the identities and case‑specific details of juveniles are restricted and will not be released. Parents/guardians have been notified as required. This matter is under investigation and will be referred to the Laramie County District Court as appropriate; any additional information will be released only as permitted by court record or by court order.
