(INDIANOLA, Neb.) — Authorities are investigating a series of vehicle thefts reported in the area, with the investigation involving law enforcement agencies in both Nebraska and Kansas. The case remains active as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
This morning, the Red Willow County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of multiple motor vehicle thefts occurring north of Indianola, Nebraska. Deputy James Wright and Sheriff Dalton Downing responded to the scene and began an investigation.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined the reported vehicle thefts were all related. The suspect was later located in Thomas County, Kansas, operating one of the vehicles reported stolen from Red Willow County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The suspect attempted to flee but was subsequently apprehended and taken into custody.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
