Guard Rail Crash Leads to DUI Arrest

(BRADY, Neb.) — A Brady man was arrested early Saturday morning after a crash on the Highway 30 overpass led to an investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy was patrolling the west side of Brady at approximately 2:22 a.m. Aug. 22 when the deputy heard a loud crash.

The deputy immediately responded to the area and located 29-year-old Leonard Johnson of Brady at the scene. Investigators determined Johnson had struck the guardrail at the top of the Highway 30 overpass on Link 56D.

Johnson did not request medical services following the crash.

After further investigation, Johnson was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of liquor and having an open alcohol container. He was subsequently booked into the Lincoln County Detention Center.

The photo released by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office showed significant damage to Johnson’s vehicle following the collision.

According to the North Platte Bulletin’s booking information, Johnson was booked by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and listed with a $5,000 bond. The booking record lists a charge of DUI liquor with an alcohol concentration of 0.15 or greater.

The incident remains under the jurisdiction of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
