National Day of Prayer

(LINCOLN, Neb.) — Nebraska recognized our National Day of Prayer with music and reverance at the State Capitol on Thursday.

From Nebraska Family Alliance

Imagine a state where God is honored, life is cherished, marriages and families thrive, and religious liberty is protected. Prayer is the foundation to ensure that vision in Nebraska.

Pray with us as Governor Pillen, Senator Joni Albrecht, local pastors, and ministry leaders exalt the Lord and lift up our state and nation in fervent prayer with Nebraska citizens gathered at the State Capitol.

“For You are my lamp, O Lord; The Lord shall enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop; By my God I can leap over a wall. As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.” 2 Samuel 22:29-31

SWAT Drone Assisted Arrest

From Nebraska State Patrol

(LINCOLN, Neb.) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol SWAT Team arrested a Milford man following a standoff overnight.

At approximately 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 25th, NSP was notified by the Milford Police Department of a situation involving an armed subject who had barricaded himself inside his home. The situation began after the subject reportedly pointed a firearm at officers while they conducted a welfare check at the 700 block of 5th Street in Milford. NSP Crisis Negotiators responded and the NSP SWAT Team was activated.

A warrant was issued for the subject, identified as Ethan Foster, 22. Following repeated attempts to communicate with the Foster, troopers utilized an interior drone to determine his location inside the home. They were also able to determine that Foster was still in possession of a firearm.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. Thursday, SWAT troopers made entry and took Foster into custody. While being placed under arrest, Foster was combative and repeatedly resisted by kicking and attempting to strike troopers. Foster was lodged in Seward County Jail.

The Milford Police Department and Seward County Sheriff’s Office assisted in this arrest. Milford PD is the investigating agency.

Real Life CSI’s

(LINCOLN, Neb.) — The field of Crime Scene Investigation has become very popular in recent years, primarily due to television series by the same name, CSI, and others.

Let’s take a moment to peek in on the crew in Lincoln.

From Lincoln Police Department

Meet our CSIs! All those popular TV shows are based on the hard work of these real-life experts. Our Crime Scene Investigators all have other primary roles at LPD and CSI work is an extra specialized position.

Lincoln Police CSIs, ID Lab employees and partnering agencies attended the 40th annual Nebraska Division of the International Association for Identification Training Conference this week. They are required to maintain their certifications through their work experience and attending educational trainings like this one.

The CSIs are called on at all hours to process scenes and all types of evidence on major cases in the City of Lincoln Government. They train monthly with our partnering agencies of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol. Our forensic experts then work to process various items of evidence collected by our CSIs.

Thank you to all of the employees who attended this training to further their education in the field of forensics. Not all of our CSIs are pictured as a team was called to assist in crime scene processing.
