Rifle Causes Stir, Prompts Response
Around 2:15 pm today, Scanner Traffic indicated a report of someone walking down the street with a rifle on their shoulder. Gering Schools went to Secure Status while Officers went to each school to facilitate an orderly release to parents.

- 4:05 am – five rocks road, 10-65 building fire alarm. Gering fire and GPD responding.
- 8:23 am – transport pt to Colorado facility. Fixed wing king air 200
- 8:36 am – Deputy out at Mitchell Elementary to pick up child to take to CAPSTONE.
- 11:57 am – male at E Overland Watering Hole talking to himself.
- 12:30 pm – in reference to the shoplifting at Walmart it’s 2 females same last name one is already trespassed from Walmart
- 12:46 pm – child abuse call on the board
- 2:15 pm – Gering had a report of someone walking down the street with a rifle on their shoulder. They are putting the schools on secure status. White male light colored shirt baseball cap and jeans, last seen on 6th and K. Schools are on Secure Status. They are sending officers to schools to dismiss one school at a time
- 2:46 pm – rp reporting sketchy male walking by Ave I and Railway, blue shirt black shorts Nike shoes. keeps looking behind him. Cop saw him doesn’t feel the need to harass him. Why are people reporting sketchy individuals? Many of us will have to get a disguise now!
- 2:55 pm – Learning Tree Day care is calling in to find out if they should be on “lock down” or not, officer enroute.
- 3:43 pm – Hit and Run Non-Injury Accident E 42nd 5th Ave They having to get a wrecker for the car that’s still there.
- Lyman fire, dispatched for gas leak
- 6:07 verbal disturbance at YMCA at front desk over stolen property unknown number of people. Officers en route….just saw 2 leave the station
- 6:11 pm – Little Ceasars report of a heated argument between employees and customers. Same male was in a domestic with girlfriend before.
- 6:15 pm – 8 miles south of Crawford on Hwy 71, man jumping at cars
- 7:15 pm – SBPD putting vehicles in the garage for the upcoming storm!
- 7:17 possible disturbance Ave B female said it was an accident she called 911 male in back telling her what to say was her father. Argument was on the phone with boyfriend.
- 7:22 pm – Gering EMS needed Estates Dr. Male trouble breathing. Sending medical.
- 7:42 pm – Animal complaint. Dog chained to maroon F 250 at First National Bank
- 7:45 pm – Yellow Charger and black truck racing on 11th Ave.
- 7:51 pm – Gering out somewhere talking about someone closing a window and they have confirmation he’s in there, must be a warrant or something. Said they turned off lights in the house.
- 7:52 pm – female patient, cardiac arrest
- 7:58 pm – 65 male, did 2 rounds of CPR, got a pulse back
- 8:17 pm – 2nd Ave Female teen banging her head on the wall. May have concussion.
- 8:22 pm – 3rd Ave dog complaint. Said they 10-77 with any animals.
- 8:36 pm – Looking for a white pick up south bound on 11th. Hit and Run two cars, should have front end damage
- 8:55 pm – Taco John’s Gering Suspicious male taking yo himself and been in Bathroom for 20 minutes
- 8:59 pm – West Adler car alarm going off RP thinks someone is tampering with her vehicle
- 9:08 pm – shoplifting wal mart, lady pushing cart with Food, Fishing Poles through parking lot. Pushing cart towards Sonic’s
- 9:12 pm – empty shopping cart found by Jimmy John’s, Think they got in a car from there
- 9:30 pm – medical command for panic attack
- 9:32 pm – 2 cop cars, 1 ambulance and a firetruck at the Lincoln house
- 9:49 pm – 20 year old female en route to rwmc suffering from panic attack unable to speak.
