GERING HIGH SCHOOL TEAM FINISHES STATE MOCK TRIAL AS RUNNER-UP

Gering, NE (December 13, 2023) – The Gering High School Mock Trial Team rolled undefeated through the first three rounds of state competition as they beat Pius X, York, and then Ainsworth to earn a spot in the State Championship round Tuesday.

The Gering Bulldogs went toe-to-toe with Omaha Duchesne Academy in the championship that ended in a judges split decision with Gering as State Runner-Up.

Gering High School Criminal Justice Teacher and Mock Trial Sponsor, John Boyd shares “We are incredibly proud of the team this year! They are young, with only one of them previously competing in Mock Trial last year — but that didn’t stop them! They rose to the challenge, worked hard, and represented Gering at the state level in a way that our community can be proud of!”
