I saw Jasmine Hopkins in Lexington today. I walked inches past her in the hallway of the Dawson County Courthouse in Lexington. She was there, talking to her attorney who has done some wonderful work for her.
Jasmine is facing criminal charges for being in the same house as the man who sentenced her baby to death. And no matter what your opinion is of her, and whether she should’ve run, got help, snuck out under the cover of darkness, or something to protect her 2-month-old son, she is still Carson’s mom, and the state is having mercy on her momma’s heart.
Carson Haynes is going to die. That is a fact. I’m not heartless. I can empathize with another mother’s pain. And Jasmine is being allowed to be with her baby son as he leaves his broken body.
An order for a furlough was granted in the County Court of Dawson County, Nebraska on March 5, 2024 on the same day Carson’s father’s parental rights were terminated by the same court.
The furlough will allow Jasmine to leave jail at 7 am on March 6 to be present at Children’s Hospital to consent to the removal of life support for Carson.
Jasmine’s grandma will take her to the hospital and she will be allowed to be with Carson as he dies. Court documents recognize this may take multiple days but her furlough at this time is for a maximum of one week or until Carson passes away, whichever comes first.
Jasmine must return to jail immediately after her son dies, or within one week. All other terms of her bond remain unaffected.
Jasmine’s preliminary hearing for the criminal case is March 11, 2024.

Idc what anyone says or thinks but after all the abuse she did to the baby and allowing it also, she should have no right to see the baby in any form!
She is subhuman to me!..
She’s a monster and him too!!.. she should’ve never had any time to be with the poor baby as she caused injuries which lead to his death!!..
