Major NWS Outage

(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.) — Multiple storm chasers, including local chaser Timothy Mendez, along with meteorologists nationwide, are noting that the national weather service radars are down. From the looks of the following map, it is a nationwide outage.

Between frame 15-20 you will see a flicker in all localized doppler radar beams shutting off for a quick second then shutting off.

All radarscope and Omega users will need to switch to the MRMSS to see any reflectivity

Historically, it has happened before. This hraphic from storm tracker Ethan Gonzales from March of 2022 shows an outage similar to this one.

Brandon Montgomery had this to say about the weather setup just before a major portion of nationwide radars went down, including the one serving St. Louis.

Just wow!!!

This tornado warned supercell west of St. Louis, Missouri looked absolutely incredible structure wise!!!!

These shots were captured several miles west-southwest of New Haven just before 7 PM CDT.

Amazing rotating supercell structure for Mississippi River Valley standards!!!📸💯
