(NORTH PLATTE, Neb.) — 47-year-old Candy McClain pleaded guilty to distribution of a controlled substance according to Frontier County District Court records.
The charge was amended from child abuse. An additional count of using a minor to distribute a controlled substance was dismissed in exchange for the plea.
November 2023, McClain’s husband reported she sold different medications for extra cash, sometimes sending their daughter to exchange the pills for cash.
Court records show she has prior convictions, including possession of a controlled substance and forgery.
McClain could be sentenced up to 20 years in prison. She is currently housed in the Lincoln County Detention Center.
