The Ugly Truth of Climate Change

So in our research on HAARP, we came across this interesting article: “HAARP, the most powerful ionosphere heater on Earth“.

Since 2000, HAARP has produced many interesting and unexpected results, perhaps most spectacularly the production of an artificial ionospheric plasma generated by radio waves.

HAARP project is described as heating and observing the ionosphere. Generators at the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) operations center in Alaska (buildings to the upper left) feed power to the large antenna array to the right.

The HAARP beam is broad like a flashlight’s, not narrow like a laser’s, but it can be electronically steered. Its powerful radio waves drive ionospheric electrons back and forth in what are called plasma waves. As those driven electrons collide with each other and with background species, their temperature goes up, which is why HAARP is called a heater.

Global warming and an ionospheric heater, now that’s a combination. Oh, maybe that’s why the changed the talking points to ‘Climate Change’ instead?

Solar radiation modification is controversial because widespread use of technologies like marine cloud brightening could alter weather patterns in unclear ways and potentially limit the productivity of fisheries and farms.

More clouds equals more chances for storms and more storms create more lightning. How convenient in light of these two stories.

“Lightning strikes will increase due to climate change“ reports that a study from 2014 showed that lightning strikes will increase by about 12%.

New research from the University of California, Berkeley, published on Thursday in the journal Science, found warming conditions would result in 50% more lightning strikes by the end of the century.

“For every two lightning strikes you had at the beginning of the century, we will have three at the end of the century,” said David Romps, a researcher at the University of California, Berkeley.

Wildfires are more likely to start due to hot lightning strikes, which the group describes as strikes that last much longer than average. They found that approximately 90% of the fires they observed got their start this way. Such strikes can last from around 40 milliseconds to nearly a third of a second. Longer strike times transfer more heat to flammable material such as trees, shrubs and even grass. The models showed lightning strikes increasing by 2090, representing a 28% increase.
