Woman Pronounced Dead Comes “Back to Life” at Lincoln Funeral Home

We know it’s not supposed to be a laughing matter, but it brings to mind a similar situation from a classic movie.

(LINCOLN, Neb.) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is looking into an incident where a woman, previously presumed dead, showed signs of life at a Lincoln funeral home on Monday.

Emergency responders were called to Butherus Maser & Love Funeral Home after CPR was initiated by staff around midday.

The woman, originally from Waverly, was initially believed to be deceased before being transported to the funeral home.

Despite not being involved in the initial call, the sheriff’s office dispatched deputies to Waverly to investigate further.

The woman has since been transferred to Bryan East Campus, where she is reportedly alive as of Monday afternoon.

Chief Deputy Ben Houchin stated that the investigation is ongoing and in its early stages.
