12 Year Old Caught Driving

(KIMBALL, Neb.) — Child Abuse charges are being levied against the parents of a child caught behind the wheel.

Two arrested following a traffic stop.

On 06/06/2024 at approximately 9:11 p.m., officers of the Kimball Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of South Nadine Street and East 3rd Street. Officers observed a motor vehicle failing to maintain its lane, and upon pulling the vehicle over, the vehicle collided with a parked motor vehicle.

Upon further investigation, it’s was discovered that the driver of the motor vehicle was a 12 year old juvenile. Also in the vehicle was another 12 year old juvenile, and the parents of the driver. Evidence of intoxication was discovered in the drivers parents.

Derick Metcalf and Cora Robinson were arrested and charged with two counts of Child Abuse and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a child. We would like to thank the Kimball County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this incident.
