Golden Hour Barbecue

Golden Hour Barbecue is just a fledgling business, but it’s already a local favorite. Opened in February of this year, Fletcher and Flor Sheridan are the owners of our second quarter Small Business favorite.

Golden Hour refers to the breathtaking sunsets and sunrises on Nebraska prairies. “Being that cooking great barbecue is lengthy, it allows us to embrace those golden moments twice a day,” their website states.

We’re here to make the smoked meat experience accessible to hardworking locals and travelers alike. We’re committed to authenticity, quality, and enjoying a good meal with the people we care about most.

Fletcher, known as the Pitmaster, has been honing his skill from an early age. He grew up in Georgetown, Texas, cooking meals for his family. While playing tennis at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, he worked at a local BBQ place. That’s where he met Flor.

Flor graduated from Alliance High School and also attended UNK, earning her education degree. But her journey didn’t stop there. She pursued a master’s degree, managed her first business ghostwriting for luxury brands worldwide, and planned her wedding with Fletcher all at once.

Flor is called the Pit-Master at Golden Hour, but obviously does much more! Aside from helping manage fires and sampling Fletcher’s cooking, Flor can be found planning dream weddings for brides in the Midwest and setting up parties as the Event Coordinator for Newberry’s.

Finally got to try Golden Hour – was really thrilled to finally have a TX worthy barbecue place in Western Nebraska. So much beef out here; it’s exciting to see this level of preparation.

Best pulled pork ever ! Can’t wait to go back!

Brisket is amazing and the homemade pickles are perfect! Got in and out in less than 10 minutes which is perfect for a lunch break stop!

Next time I’m in Alliance, I need to stop and try them out. Sounds like it will be worth the drive!
