(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.) — The City of Scottsbluff is hiring a school crossing guard, part-time.

The job of School Crossing Guard shall include supervising the safe crossing of pedestrians, children in patricular, at crossing locations clearly marked as such and established by law. 

This is a part-time job that lasts only while public schools are in session. Typically, 2 hours a day, one in the morning before school starts, and one in the afternoon after school lets out. 

• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Ability to relate well to children
• Ability to communicate with children and the public effectively and in a positive manor
• Must be dependable
• Ability to think and move quickly
• Ability to provide verbal direction to pedestrians
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to see, hear, talk, walk, stand, kneel and bend
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
