Fatal Hwy 71 MVA

(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.) — Highway 71 North of Scottsbluff is currently closed due to an MVA.  For those who might be heading to Chadron for the football game tonight, please take an alternate route.  Please drive safely! (Thank you for that heads up, Mitchell Public Schools)

Scanner traffic indicates a medical response to a head-on MVA several miles north of Scottsbluff on Hwy 71 near Watson Ranch with one vehicle on fire. Stand by for more. Please pray for everyone involved including First Responders and stay clear of that road if possible.

Further traffic confirmed the passing of the male passenger who has been identified. Next of Kin notifications are being made now.
