Identification of Human Remains in Washakie County

WORLAND, WY – With profound sadness, the Washakie County Coroner’s Office confirms that the human remains discovered on March 23, 2025, have been positively identified as Breanna Mitchell.

Washakie County Coroner Jeff Lapp made the identification through dental records provided by Ms. Mitchell’s dental office and its attending doctors. Her remains were located north of the site where her vehicle became stuck in July 2023.

Ms. Mitchell’s family has been notified, and our hearts are with them as they navigate this unimaginable loss. We extend our deepest condolences.

At this stage, the Washakie County Coroner has not determined a cause of death.

We understand that speculation may arise within the community, but we urge everyone to remember that this case involves a loved daughter, mother, sister, and friend. Out of respect for Breanna and her loved ones, we ask for patience and understanding.

We recognize the grief and uncertainty that Breanna’s family and friends have endured. While this identification may bring some measure of closure, we remain committed to seeking answers if new information comes to light.

Thank you to all the individuals who volunteered their time to attempt to locate Breanna. We greatly appreciate your efforts.

It has been 1 year since Breanna Mitchell has gone missing. We are still praying she is found and our hearts are broken. We are still asking you to come forward if you know anything about her disappearance. I believe there was foul play involved ,and I really have nothing nice to say to the people I believe were involved in her disappearance. It is time to come forward and tell us where she is! She deserves to be found.

I am begging everyone to share this today, tomorrow, and every time you think of her. I want the people tto see her face daily as a reminder what they have done ,and you can’t just erase her and move on with your lives. She deserved to live her life and you deserve to rot in a cell.

A birthday wish for my daughter Breanna Mitchell is that she is found safe. If she has been hurt or murdered my wish for her is that you are so tormented by what you have done you come forward and turn yourself or (yourselves) in. It is time to break the silence and bring her home!

Friday, August 11th, 2023.

A total of 45 Search and Rescue personnel from Washakie County (including one helicopter), Hot Springs County, Park County, Sheridan County, Johnson County, and Big Horn County arrived at the area where Breanna’s vehicle was last. SAR personnel from the above-listed counties searched the area until it was dark. I am still waiting on all the above counties to send me their map data to be able to get the exact amount of square miles that were searched. I estimate SAR has searched well over 20 square miles of land in this area. Again this is just an estimation.

Unfortunately, nothing of importance was discovered.

Find-911 is still processing all the images they had taken through their software. They will provide me with a report this week.

I want to thank all the counties who assisted us. It was truly impressive to make a phone call and have this amount of support show up. Wyoming is truly lucky to have these individuals volunteering their time to assist with lost and missing persons.

Currently, the Washakie County Sheriff’s Office is no longer searching this area for Breanna Mitchell. We will continue the efforts here at the office, going through all the tips, cell phone data, search warrants, and all other leads we may receive.

We currently have no evidence to prove there was any “foul play” regarding her disappearance. Remember, we have to work on evidence, not on rumors.

We are still investigating all her call logs and text messages. We are interviewing the individuals who contacted her or the ones she had contacted. We are still waiting for Facebook and Snapchat to release the data we requested through search warrants. These large companies can take quite some time to get this information to us.

This will be the last public update I will give on this case unless something important occurs.

She has still not been located.

The K-9 and handler (mentioned in my last post) we brought in was a cadaver k-9 out of Cody, WY, whose specialty is to locate deceased humans. This K-9 gave clues that there may have been a deceased individual in a pond in the search area. This pond is located almost directly in the middle of the area the FBI helped us with. This was the only area the cadaver k-9 gave clues at. The K-9 handler called a diver out of Cody, WY, to search the pond. After a few hours of searching, the diver could not locate anything. This water has zero visibility.

We then got permission from the Bureau of Land Management to drain the pond. The Worland Fire Department allowed us to use two of their pumps, two private companies also allowed us to use their pumps, and one private company donated a pump intake line to help. After 3 days of pumping water out, Search and Rescue was able to go through the mud of the pond and did not locate anyone. Search and Rescue were out there making sure the pumps stayed running for the entire 3 days.

At this time, we have no known direction of travel nor any more clues to go off of that would help narrow the search area down. I will be getting in contact with some Sheriff’s surrounding Washakie County to see if they are willing to send a few members of their Seach and Rescue Squads to give one final grid search of the area. Once I get the details of this lined out, I will do a post to see if people would like to help.

If we are unable to locate any more clues or Breanna after this search, I will then suspend the search efforts out there. This only applies to the search in the badlands

I have half of my patrol department working on any possible leads from cell phone data or any tips we receive. We will continue to work on the law enforcement investigation until nothing is left to investigate.

I absolutely need to give my search and rescue teams a break from searching. Most of them had been out in the area searching for her since the day she was reported missing. These individuals have jobs and families that they have been away from. Washakie County is extremely lucky to have such a dedicated group of individuals who volunteer their time to work on these types of incidents. I am grateful for them.

If civilians want to go out into the area to continue searching, you may. Please be advised this area is rough terrain, there are many rattlesnakes, and is very hot. Bring water, food, and do not get lost out there, as it is very easy to do. If you find something that appears human-related or possibly related to this case, DO NOT TOUCH IT or anything around it. Try to get the GPS coordinates of the item and call the Sheriff’s Office at 307-347-2242.

She has not been located.

The FBI was able to assist us in possibly narrowing down a smaller area to search. The data they assisted with was helpful even though we have not located her. This data is only accurate however, if right as the cell phone lost signal she stopped moving. If she continued moving after the cellphone lost power then the information only shows a possible area the phone was last in communication with a cell tower before losing power. Which means the search area could be larger. Keep in mind this data doesn’t give exact locations so the search area is still pretty large.

The K9 and their handler that worked Friday night and Saturday morning did show some signs in a certain area. I currently have SAR Crews there. DO NOT go into this area as it is still a Law Enforcement Investigation. I will not be sharing the location of this area because I do not want a bunch of individuals in this area that could possibly jeopardize any tracks or clues SAR may find. Again DO NOT go into the area.

We are still looking into things. Again I will post updates when I can.

I will do a post here if we need another large scale search but at this moment we do not need one.

She has still not been located.

Yesterday the bloodhound and the handler were unable to locate her. The bloodhound was able to detect a few areas she may have been around but those didn’t last long. Friday we are bringing in a dog with a different skill to maybe find her. So I am asking everyone who is assisting in the search please not be in the area as this dog will be working which will be Friday night and early Saturday morning.

I have reached out to the Wyoming branch of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. They have agreed to assist The Washakie County Sheriff’s Office in this case. They have better technology to assist with managing data and better training when it comes to missing individuals. I am exploring all options we have to find Breanna.

We have been granted search warrants for all of Brianna’s cellular phone data, social media data, and email data. Which will hopefully give us a much better look into anyone she had contact with the day she went missing. A more accurate location of where her phone was also that night. We should be receiving this data soon from the many different sources.

Mr. Romo has been cooperative with Law Enforcement and has been interviewed. He has also informed us that he will come in and talk to us if we have any other questions that come up. Numerous other individuals have been interviewed as well. I will not go into details of these interviews as this is still an active law enforcement investigation.

There are many rumors being spread and it is difficult to combat those as many know. I give updates when I have new information. If you do not see a post from me on here then I do not have updates. I cannot respond to every single comment or message that is being sent on Facebook because we are busy doing other things.

The Washakie County Sheriff’s Office is using all the resources we have access to. Deputies have been coming in on their days off and have been staying late to work on this case.

With all the individuals who were out assisting, along with Civil Air Patrol, Guardian Helicopter, Search and Rescue, and the Bloodhound from Fremont county, we were still unfortunately unable to locate Breanna.

The bloodhound crew will be going back out in the morning to search an area where a boot and a shirt were located. Keep in mind with these extremely hot temperatures the dog can only do so much. Thankfully he is willing to still try even though the conditions aren’t great for this type of K9 search.

We are extremely thankful for everyone who came out tonight! Our list of volunteers was 20+ and that’s just the ones who stopped to check in, there appeared to be even more than that.

Searching the area is not the only thing the Sheriff’s Office is doing. Deputies are following leads and rumors and talking to individuals. I am not commenting on that portion of this incident to the public as it is an active investigation. We are treating this as more than just a missing person. Just because we do not know exactly what happened yet.

If I receive any updates I will make a post. If you do not see a post on this page it means I do not have an update.

To the family of Breanna we understand this situation is extremely frustrating, very confusing, and very depressing. We are doing all we can to try and find her.

If you are coming to assist search, there will be two stations. Station 1 will be before the slab on Nowater Road. Station 2 will be at the turn-off to where Mitchell’s vehicle location was. The vehicle is not out there as we have towed it to search for possible clues of her disappearance… Each station will have a map of the general area. We will give one map per vehicle. This map does not have a list of areas that have been searched. Just search around the area. We have no known last direction of travel.

Please be advised Civil Air Patrol and a Guardian Helicopter will control the airspace NO DRONES.

Again, please be careful if you are coming out to help. Search and Rescue will be responding by 530 p.m.

Please do not interfere with any SAR personnel or the bloodhound handler that will also be out there.

I have no new updates to give. We still have not located her. I have SAR personnel out this morning on horseback and in side by sides looking.

At 5 p.m. tonight, I will be paging out Search and Rescue to search where Breanna Mitchell’s Vehicle was located and the surrounding areas. I will also be asking for the assistance of Guardian with one of their helicopter crews to search this area as well. SAR Crews may not get out to the area till around 5:45 p.m. or 6 p.m.

I welcome any volunteers who would like to go out there at this time as well to help search. If you are going to come out to help, do not bring any drones, as the helicopter crew can not fly the area if there are drones in the area. Please bring lots of water, food, and any other supplies you may need. Mostly I ask volunteers to be safe and not get lost while searching.

We have no known last direction of travel. We had located footprints that led about 1000 yards short of the Nowater Road, but then we couldn’t see any more.

If you have contact with Breanna Mitchell, please get in touch with the Washakie County Sheriff’s Office at 307-347-2242.

We were informed she had gotten stuck off of Nowater Trail (just passed the Worland Airport), so Search and Rescue was activated to look for her. After some time of looking, they located the vehicle on a two-track 2 miles off of Nowater Trail. However, she was not at the vehicle.

Search and Rescue units have gone out for 2 days now trying to locate her. Search and Rescue also had an individual flying an airplane in the area to look for her as well.

We have been unable to locate her, and her family has not been able to contact her either. We have pinged her phone, but according to Verizon, it is shut off.

She is not in trouble with law enforcement. We want to ensure she is safe. So again, please get in touch with the Washakie County Sheriff’s Office at 307-347-2242 if you have seen or have had any contact with Breanna Mitchell in the last 24 hours.

The Alliance Police Department announces the sentencing of two feathers bueno, following a criminal investigation involving a child exploitation case. On Wednesday, bueno was sentenced in Boxview County District Court for multiple felony convictions. Specifically, bueno was sentenced to 14 to 18 years for incarceration for three counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, along with three additional years for incarceration on one count of third degree sexual assault of a child. He will be required to register as a sex offender. Anyone with information related to crimes involving child exploitation is encouraged to contact your local police department. We have an update on the Ashby and minor fires. The operations section chief tells us that the forward progress of the fires has been stopped and aircraft are being utilized to work the flanks of the two fires along with the resources on the ground. At the time they were measured, Ashby showed 43,641 acres and minor was at 22,486. That's from the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency. And last night, the Lagrange Fire Department responded to a grass fire south of Bear Creek Road and west of Four Corners Road caused by dry lightning. With the help of Yoder, Hock Springs, Laramie County District 5 and Albin, they were able to extinguish the fire. They'd also like to recognize the brave ranchers who they see out on almost every grass fire. It's not just the landowners, but the neighbors, ranch hands and friends, protecting and fighting for their livelihood. Many times people just bring whatever they can to work the fire and then they step aside when the professionals step in and often aren't recognized for their hard work and bravery. Thank you to the farmers and ranchers who are helping out there.

For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. When you father children and children’s children, and have grown old in the land, if you act corruptly by making a carved image in the form of anything, and by doing what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God, so as to provoke him to anger, I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that you will soon utterly perish from the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess. You will not live long in it, but will be utterly destroyed. And the Lord will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where the Lord will drive you. And there you will serve gods of wood and stone, the work of human hands, that neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. When you are in tribulation, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, you will return to the Lord your God and obey his voice. For the Lord your God is a merciful God. He will not leave you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers that he swore to them. God’s people were entering a land filled with temptation, and he knew their devotion would be divided. Moses warned them of the consequences of turning away from God, but he also assured them that even when they blow it, El Rachum, the “Merciful God,” would never forget them or destroy them. Wherever they ended up on their journey, they could search for Him with their whole heart and soul, and He would be there. He would not turn them away. Jesus shared a beautiful example of the merciful and compassionate love of God in the parable of the prodigal son. Although the son had left his father and broken his heart, the father eagerly awaited his return. And when his wayward son finally came to his senses, the father mercifully welcomed him back. Luke 15:22-24 ESV But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate. He didn’t punish him for leaving. He didn’t dwell on how far the son had wandered or what he had done when he was gone. Instead, he ran to meet him and threw him a welcome home party. Our merciful and compassionate God will do the same for us. You are never too far from God to turn around and come home. Luke 19:10 ESV For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. When you draw near to God, He will draw near to you. (See James 4:8.) He is merciful and compassionate. He will not turn you away, no matter how far you may have wandered. DECLARE The Merciful God will never turn me away. PRAY God, forgive me for wandering away. I want to remain in Your will, fully devoted to You. Thank You for Your mercy and compassion, even when I fall short. PONDER However far you may think you are from God, He is as close as one heartfelt prayer. Cry out to Him today, and He will welcome you home with open arms.

Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call his name Immanuel. —Isaiah 7:14 ESV There are many religious traditions in the world today, each with a different view of deity and their own path to enlightenment. People spend their lives trying to reach their “god” with no assurance they ever will. But we do not need to strain and strive to reach the God of heaven. He came down to us. Isaiah 7:1-14 ESV In the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, son of Uzziah, king of Judah, Rezin the king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah the king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to wage war against it, but could not yet mount an attack against it. When the house of David was told, “Syria is in league with Ephraim,” the heart of Ahaz and the heart of his people shook as the trees of the forest shake before the wind. And the Lord said to Isaiah, “Go out to meet Ahaz, you and Shear-jashub your son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool on the highway to the Washer’s Field. And say to him, ‘Be careful, be quiet, do not fear, and do not let your heart be faint because of these two smoldering stumps of firebrands, at the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria and the son of Remaliah. So, God sent the prophet Isaiah with a reassuring message of future salvation. One day, an immaculate conception would bring forth a miraculous birth, and Immanuel, “God with Us,” would arrive. God’s presence was a big deal to the Israelites, and it was manifested in many ways throughout their history. When they traveled through the wilderness, He was there as a cloud by day and a fire by night. (See Exodus 13:21–22.) When they worshipped at the temple, He rested in a cloud over the mercy seat in the Holy of Holies. (See Exodus 40:34–35.) When people of faith faced obstacles, the Angel of the Lord appeared to minister to them. But they never could have fathomed that the One True God would come to earth and dwell with them in human form. Luke 2:1-7 ESV In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria. And all went to be registered, each to his own town. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. Centuries after Isaiah delivered the prophetic promise of a glorious birth, Jesus of Nazareth was born. The tiny baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger was no ordinary human. God Himself had come to dwell with His creation. He came to reveal Himself to us and to become acquainted with our human struggles. To walk alongside us, healing, forgiving, and proclaiming the kingdom of God. To live a perfect life and offer the perfect sacrifice. Immanuel came to show us the extent of His love, a love that led Him to the cross for our redemption. In the days of Isaiah and Ahaz, God’s presence would come and go. Today, the presence of God is always with those of us who have surrendered our lives to Jesus. There is no place we can go where Immanuel is not there. DECLARE God is with me, and His presence changes everything. PRAY Immanuel, thank You for coming to earth to reveal Your love. Help me always to be aware of Your presence. PONDER If you ever wonder if God is with you, stop and pay attention. See Him in the beauty of creation. Hear the whisper of His voice when you read the Bible and pray. Sense His intervention, when you have unexpected strength or peace. Ask God to reveal Himself to you. He is always there.

El Elyon (Speak the Names of God) - Elevate Your Day with Andi and Brian Hale

I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me. —Psalm 57:2 ESV Purpose. It’s a powerful word. We’re all searching for answers to life’s big questions. Why am I here? Where am I going? What’s it all about? Is there someone somewhere who can help me figure it all out? When Samuel the prophet showed up and announced to a young shepherd boy named David that God had chosen him to be king of Israel, his purpose seemed clear. But it wasn’t a straight line to the throne. David went from being a shepherd in the field to a giant-slaying hero to a fugitive. And as he hid in a cave, fearing for his life, he cried out to El Elyon, the “God Most High.” Even though he couldn’t see beyond the cold, damp cavern, he knew God would save him and fulfill his purpose. Psalm 57:1-11 ESV Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by. I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me. He will send from heaven and save me; he will put to shame him who tramples on me. Selah God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness! My soul is in the midst of lions; I lie down amid fiery beasts— the children of man, whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth! They set a net for my steps; my soul was bowed down. They dug a pit in my way, but they have fallen into it themselves. We were stuck in sin and doomed for eternity until the God Most High intervened in a mighty way. He chose a young virgin girl to be the one through whom He would send His Son, Jesus, to be the Savior of the World. (See Luke 1:35.) God’s primary purpose for you is to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior and spend eternity in His presence. But He also has a purpose for you here on earth. He has given you unique passions and talents, aligning special opportunities for you to impact your world in a way only you can. When you use your God-given gifts for His glory, you are fulfilling your purpose because your ultimate purpose is to know God and make Him known. When you start to feel discouraged about what you’re doing or where you’re going, consider the apostle Paul’s words to the church at Philippi: “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6 ESV). As long as there is breath in your lungs, you have a purpose on earth. Cry out to El Elyon. He will fulfill His purpose for you. Ephesians 2:1-10 ESV And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. DECLARE God Most High will fulfill His special purpose for me. PRAY Lord, thank You for intervening in my life to save me. I surrender my search for purpose to You and commit to living my life to glorify You. PONDER Consider the special passions, talents, and opportunities God has given you. How can you use them to glorify Him? When you surrender all of it to Him, your purpose will be fulfilled.

Set Your Boundaries (Give it to God) - Elevate Your Day with Andi and Brian Hale

For every good night’s sleep, another tomorrow will come with its own set of challenges. Just like your alarm clock or phone alarm, stress will sound its alarms in your life every day. You can plan ahead, however, and order your life so you are not suffering a constant train wreck of chaos and stress. You can choose to filter stressors so you are not swimming in their aftermath. People who swim in stress all day long find it hard to give it all to God at night and go to bed! Revelation 21:3-4 ESV And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” How do you set a plan to filter stressors? I have found three important steps that are helpful (and for easy recall, all begin with the letter A): Acknowledgment, Assignment and Alignment. Galatians 5:1 ESV For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Acknowledge that every situation passes through God’s hands. Bad things that happen don’t originate with Him, but, as I like to say, He is not on vacation when they happen. Jeremiah 29:11-13 ESV For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Ask Him for insight on them. He will give it. Seek His perspective on stressful situations, and ask Him if He has an assignment for you in response to them. Then carry it out. Revelation 2:2-5 ESV I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false. I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name’s sake, and you have not grown weary. But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. Finally, align (or realign) yourself with your “first love.” Maybe you have been out of earshot of God’s voice. He might be talking, but you have been on a different radio frequency. Through prayer and His Word, get back to the channel you once heard Him on. Next, map out your goals. Who or what has been defining the boundaries of your life? Set (or reset) those boundaries according to God’s map for you. Then put the disciplines in place to help you reach your dreams and goals. Remember to keep your three-part self—body, mind and spirit—healthy. (You might even need what I call a “total-temple detox” to get there.) Eat right physically. Ingest and digest God’s Word. Study out your God-given dreams to see what He is saying to you in the night. Pray about how you respond. Philippians 4:4-9 ESV Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Understanding the dreams God sends you and acting accordingly can even save your life, or someone else’s. It has saved mine more than once. There is nothing like a prophetic directional dream to set you on the path to fulfilling God’s purposes for you (or for helping others fulfill theirs). So give it all to God and go to bed . . . and sleep and dream and get peaceful, revitalizing rest.

Still Seen Still Heard (Faith in the Dark) - Elevate Your Day with Andi and Brian Hale

Nicodemus also, who earlier had come to Jesus by night, came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds in weight. – John 19:39 ESV Nicodemus didn’t come with a testimony. He didn’t arrive with a miracle story or a bold proclamation. He just came. And for a while, it looked like he faded into the background. We don’t hear from him after his quiet conversation with Jesus—until much later. When Jesus is laid in the tomb, then Nicodemus reappears. Bringing myrrh and aloes. Bringing honor. Bringing love. Not with words, but with sacrifice. He stepped out of the night—not to preach, but to serve. Not to be seen, but to give. Maybe that’s where you are. You’ve walked with God, but feel unnoticed. Your faith has been quiet. Your acts unseen. Your voice soft. You wonder if it even matters. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5 ESV Let this truth steady your soul like a candle in the dark: You are still seen. You are still heard. You still matter to Jesus. God saw Nicodemus. God sees you. The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. – Psalm 34:15 ESV He sees the questions you’ve asked in secret. The prayers you’ve whispered. The quiet ways you’ve honored Him when no one was looking. Faith doesn’t need a stage to be sincere. Sometimes the boldest belief is lived in the shadows—until it quietly steps into the light. So take heart. Your quiet faith is not forgotten. Psalm 56:8 says You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book? Jesus knows. Jesus cares. Jesus sees. Ask Yourself Have I believed the lie that God forgets me? Where in my life do I need to remember that I am still seen and still heard? Let’s pray together. Lord, Thank You for being the kind of God who sees in the dark. When I feel overlooked—You are watching. When I feel unheard—You are listening. When I feel unseen—You call me beloved. I don’t need to shine to be Yours. You are Light enough for both of us. Amen.
