Unreasonable Search and Seizure

(LINCOLN, Neb.) — The Fourth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States protects individuals and their property from unreasonable search and seizure.

Yesterday, School Resource Officer (SRO) Deputy Buchheister provided a 4th Amendment presentation to a constitution class at Waverly High School. The presentation allowed students to engage and ask questions about how the 4th Amendment works in real life, right here in Waverly and the greater Lancaster County, Nebraska community.

All Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office deputies receive extensive training in interpreting and applying the 4th Amendment and other constitutional issues related to their duties. We’re extremely proud of the work our SROs do and are grateful for opportunities to engage with local students.
