Sidney Home Invasion

(SIDNEY, Neb.) — The Sidney Police Department is currently investigating a home invasion incident that occurred in the 1100 block of 22nd Avenue. On October 18th, officers responded to a call reporting a home invasion in progress. Upon arrival, the homeowner informed police that they had heard someone attempting to enter through a window and then heard multiple male voices inside their residence.

Officers conducted a thorough search of the home and found no signs of forced entry or missing items. The Nebraska State Patrol assisted in the investigation and cleared nearby properties.

To aid in the investigation, the crime scene was processed for fingerprints and photographs. Additionally, officers will be canvassing the neighborhood today to gather any available surveillance footage or doorbell camera recordings. We urge residents to save any relevant footage for law enforcement review.

As a precautionary measure, we encourage all community members to ensure their doors are locked and their property is secure. Leaving porch lights on can serve as a deterrent to criminals and also assist in identifying homes at night.

If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the Sidney Police Department at 308-254-5515
