(NEW CASTLE, Colo.) — an accident has occurred on i-70 eastbound near New Castle. The Colorado State Patrol has updated information for you here.

CLOSED: 1-70 EB Mile Post 105, New Castle (between Rifle and Glenwood Springs). 

A Colorado State Trooper was stopped blocking traffic in the left lane for a prior crash when a vehicle struck her Patrol car from behind.

Update

The I-70 eastbound crash has been relocated, and all lanes have reopened. The trooper involved and the other driver have NO reported injuries. 

Weather will continue to present challenging conditions along the mountain corridor.
