Drag Racing Results in Citations

(ALLIANCE, Neb.) – A 23 year old Alliance man decided to take on a juvinile driver in a game of drag racing only to be caught by Alliance Police officers. Now he and the other driver are facing heavy fines.

At approximately 9:25 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, Lieutenant Peterson observed two vehicles engaged in drag racing in the 1000 block of East Kansas Street, reaching speeds in excess of 80 mph as confirmed by radar. The vehicles were stopped, and the drivers were identified as Corbin Looser (W/M, 02/23/2002) of Alliance and a juvenile male.

Officers Parker Dahlberg and Tyler Sherlock responded to assist at the scene. The juvenile driver had three additional juvenile passengers in the vehicle. Further investigation determined that the juvenile driver was under the influence of alcohol, recording a PBT of 0.054 and a Datamaster result of 0.046. Two of the minor passengers also showed signs of alcohol consumption and were cited for Minor in Possession before being released to their parents.

The juvenile driver was cited for Zero Tolerance Violation, Speeding (35+ mph over), and Reckless Driving. His vehicle was towed due to the absence of a sober, licensed driver.

Corbin Looser, 23, the only adult involved, was cited for Speeding (35+ mph over) and Reckless Driving.
