(COLUMBUS, Neb.) — “Out with the old, and in with the new,” says NDOT in a recent statement on the demolition of an old bridge in Columbus.
From Nebraska Department of Transportation
On Sunday, crews demolished two sections of the Columbus Loup River Bridge, originally built in 1933, to make way for construction of a brand new bridge.
It’s part of the Columbus South Bridges Project, which started in April and is anticipated for completion in November 2027.
The project includes replacing the Loup River Bridge along US-81 and US-30, and repairing the northbound bridge.
