Luciano’s Road to Recovery

(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.) — Luciano Angel is on the road to recovery after 2 months in the hospital. Good news is he gets to go home on September 2nd, but his home will need some modification. The GoFundMe account is still open and is only at 44% as of today. If you feel lead to help Nano get home, please do so.

Here are the latest updates from the Go Fund Me Page

Update # 2 – 8/7/2025

Over the last month, Luciano has still been trying to regulate his body temperature and keeping away from fevers, but they are becoming more manageable!

He’s been working on pop overs with physical therapy. (Transferring from one place to another without the help of another person and/or a sliding board). He’s learning how to bathe, dress, and take care of his personal hygiene by himself!

Nano gets to go home September 2nd!

We are still working towards their goal, but appreciate every one that has contributed so far!
Sophia and Nano are still working towards getting the house ready for Nano! They are in need of a ramp and a walk in bath/shower! Any donation will be helpful towards getting them all set up at home!

Thank you!

Update #1 – 7/2/2025

Hi everyone, I wanted to share a quick update on Nano!

First of all, Nano and his mother would really like to thank everyone from the bottom of their hearts for all of their generous donations! They are so grateful for all of your support! We’re still working towards our goal, so please continue sharing our fundraiser with your friends and family. Every little bit helps towards keeping their house & medical expenses!

Since Nano was flown to the children’s hospital in Colorado, he has fought incredibly hard. Starting in ICU, transitioning to PICU, and now to the rehabilitation floor.

Nano has struggled with fevers and headaches, and keeping his oxygen levels up, and has a feeding tube and getting introduced to a liquid/ puree foods.

His physically therapy has started with very short periods of sitting up, started at two minutes and is now up to four minutes!

(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.) — On Tuesday, June 17th, 2025 at approximately 2:40 A.M., a 15 year old boy’s life took a tragic turn. Luciano, (or as to many of us, Nano), was involved in a single vehicle rollover that involved him getting ejected from the vehicle.

He was found 50 feet from the rollover site unresponsive and in critical condition. EMS had to insert a right chest tube in the field for punctured lungs, later finding the lung with air in between right lung and rib cage, collecting mucus and causing a lung collapse. Upon arrival at Regional West Medical Center, they found that Nano had broken vertebrates in his neck and spine, broken nose, and broken front and back ribs.

With Nano’s critical condition, it was best for him to be transferred by flight to the children’s hospital in Aurora, CO, where they discovered Nano couldn’t feel or move from the chest down to his feet and had to keep him sedated. They found the vertebrates – C7 through T5 are all hemorrhaged, and T2 through T4 have a burst fracture, broken in multiple directions, a small brain bleed, fractured left temple, fracture in skull behind the left ear, broken collar bone, and fractured left shoulder, bruised right lung and left lung severely bruise and filling with fluid between the lung and rib cage, grade 2 liver laceration.

A few short hours later, he was taken to surgery to get stabilize his back with rods & screws to hopefully regain movement again. Upon him awaking from surgery, he had yet to gain feeling or movement back, and physicians, on June 24th, confirmed complete paralysis for the the rest of his life. While Nano is thankfully stable in the hospital, his recovery could take 6-12 months.

This fundraiser is to help Nano and his Mother with medical expenses, medical equipment, household bills, and many appointments and therapy Nano will need in the coming future. His mother will be unable to work with his transfer to CO from NE for the unforeseeable future. Anything you can give will directly go toward easing their financial burden during this incredibly difficult time, allowing Nano to heal and his mother to be there for him.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support, prayers, and kindness.
