(BRIDGEPORT, Neb.) — The dump truck driver who caused a fatal accident over three years ago is finally standing trial for the death of two victims.

On September 20th, 2025, Aldo Hernandez-Meza was booked into the Morrill County Jail on two charges of Motor Vehicle Homicide stemming from a fatal accident that occurred on June 14th, 2022.
On June 14th, 2022, at approximately Highway 385 mile marker 85, Aldo Hernandez-Meza, of Mexico, was operating a dump truck in a road construction zone when he failed to yield the right of way to another vehicle. This caused a collision between the dump truck and a passenger vehicle, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.
The deceased couple was later identified as 79-year-old Charles Dueker and 78-year-old Linda Dueker. Their son, 56-year-old Bruce Dueker, sustained injuries in the crash.
Hernandez-Meza was initially brought to the Morrill County Jail following the incident and later released on bond. He failed to appear for his scheduled court hearing, and a warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest by the Morrill County Court.
Hernandez-Meza was recently located and taken into custody in the State of New Jersey. He was booked in Bergen County, N.J., for Simple Assault/Knowingly Causing Bodily Injury, and Fugitive From Justice. Following extradition proceedings, he was transported back to Nebraska and booked into the Morrill County Jail to stand trial for two counts of Motor Vehicle Homicide.
The Morrill County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to bringing justice to the victims’ families and ensuring accountability for those responsible.
