Heavy Fog Causes Fatal Accident

(NORTH PLATTE, Neb.) — A family is now without a husband and father after an accident claimed the life of a Moorefield, Nebraska man. A Go Fund Me account has been setup to help the family with funeral costs.

On September 20th, 2025 at 08:56 AM, Lincoln County Deputies were dispatched to 17504 South Highway 83 on report of a car versus semi crash. Deputies found a south bound car struck a semi tractor/Propane tanker trailer as it pulled out of the Sundoco Pipeline towards the north. There was heavy fog in the area at the time of the accident with Deputies reporting near zero visibility.

The driver of the car was identified as 55 year old Timothy Young of Moorefield Nebraska. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi tractor trailer was not injured in the crash.

A Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstructionist was contacted and will complete the investigation and mapping of the scene.

Tim Young died following a tragic wreck on Saturday, September 20, 2025. He was traveling on Highway 83 south of North Platte, Nebraska.

Tim lived in Moorefield with his wife JuLynn. She says of Tim, “he was not perfect, but he was perfect for me.”

Neighbors and friends say he was an amazing husband to JuLynn. They could see his love and devotion as he helped her through her own medical battles recently. “The Young’s,” they said, “always lend a helping hand when it is needed, even when they are going through their own struggles.”

I believe this. As Midwest Media by Melanie I reported on the wreck and in the midst of her loss, JuLynn reached out and thanked me for sharing, saying it would have been much longer for her to be informed if I had not shared. She was worried about negative things being said to me! That shows an unparalleled kindness.
