Protection Order Means No Contact

(KIMBALL, Neb.) — On October 6, 2025, officers with the Kimball Police Department arrested Jonathon Richards following an investigation into a series of concerning emails and messages.

As a result of the investigation, Richards was charged with:

  • Violation of a Protection Order
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person

Richards has been charged with 1D Felony Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person and Class 1 Misdemeanor Violation of a Protection Order.

He was arraigned in Kimball County Court Oct. 7 where Judge Derek Weimer (who was handling the case for County Court Judge Randin Roland) set his bond at $50,000. 

The Kimball Police Department remains committed to ensuring the safety of our community and will continue to investigate all threats and violations seriously.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
