Pursuit Across State Lines

(TORRINGTON, Wyo.) — Thursday evening after 9:30 p.m., scanner traffic indicated a pursuit headed into Nebraska from Torrington.

The suspect was reported trying to break into a personal shop building near 21st Century Equipment. Law enforcement responded to burglary in progress. The suspect then stole a neighbor’s 2004 Grey Cadallic and took off east on Highway 26.

Deputies with the Goshen County Sheriff’s Office pursued the suspect and notified Nebraska State Patrol of the approaching chase.

The suspect entered Nebraska on Highway 26 at Henry, turned south on Holloway Rd and drove west back into Wyoming and headed north back to Torrington. Speeds were clocked at as high as 112 m.p.h..

The Cadallic was reported crashed in the ditch near CR 47 and the suspect ran on foot. Torrington Emergency Medical Services and Torrington Volunteer Fire Department responded but when they realized the car was unoccupied, they canceled fire and had EMS standby.
