(TORRINGTON, Wyo.) — The Torrington Volunteer Fire Department was kept busy in the last 24 hours. Here’s a recap from the Department.
Yesterday evening TVFD firefighters trained while partaking in a friendly game of dodgeball. We do this to work on air consumption while using our SCBA packs. The average firefighter made 10 trips to the top of the training tower and back down to rejoin the game!
Shortly after 2100 hours last night, TVFD responded with Command, Engine 6, Tower 1 and 10 personnel to EWC Eastern Hall to mitigate the results of a salmon and shrimp dinner.
Early this morning at 500 hours, TVFD responded to Goshen Health Care Communities for a vehicle fire. Command, Engine 6, Rescue 1 and 9 firefighters responded. No occupants were in the vehicle.

It was a hot time in T-Town last night!
Our team responded to the Care Center on a report of a vehicle that was smoking, and found a mid-size SUV with the engine compartment fully engulfed in flames.
Despite Officer Cross’s valiant efforts, his fire extinguisher was no match for the blaze. The #heroes from the Torrington Volunteer Fire Department arrived a few short minutes later and extinguished the fire with ease.
Thankfully, no one was injured, and the vehicle was the only property damaged.
A great job by all of our First Responders!
