Gering Makes Its Case

(GERING, Neb.) — Gering High School’s Mock Trial teams brought home district championship and runner-up honors Monday, with both teams advancing to the championship round of the District Mock Trial Tournament.

The tournament was held Nov. 2 at the Scotts Bluff County Courthouse, where Gering Blue defeated Scottsbluff and Gering Gold to claim the district championship.

With the victory, Gering Blue earned a berth at the State Mock Trial Championships, scheduled for Dec. 7-8 in Lincoln.

Gering Gold also turned in a strong performance, defeating Scottsbluff and Kimball to secure district runner-up honors.

School officials praised the students for their hard work, dedication and perseverance, noting they balanced mock trial preparation with multiple fall activities and other commitments.
