Snow Slacker Assaults Officer

A Scottsbluff Police Officer went to the home of Tony McBride, 50, to cite him for not shoveling his sidewalk. McBride became enraged, verbally threatened the officer and spit on the officer’s face.

Court documents refrence text messages and threats sent by McBride stating “I will end her,” referring to a jailer at the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center. In another text, he stated that he was going to “burn this place down”.

McBride was arrested for terroristic threats, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, assault on an officer, as well as Ice, Mud, removal from sidewalk. He was arraigned on January 24 and his preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 14.

McBride is familiar with the court. In 2013, Tony McBride, then 38, of Scottsbluff, was charged with burglary, but was later acquitted.
