(CHADRON, Neb.) — A petition is circulating to remove the game warden for shooting a deer in the town of Hay Springs.
One family in the northern part of Nebraska is very upset by the death of a fawn they helped care for after it was orphaned. The images below are screenshots from Todd Lewin’s video to show the little deer known in the neighborhood as “Lucky.”
The story seems to tell of the orphaned deer raised by a little girl who had to move away. Then, the deer made its way to the Lewin residence. They relocated the deer to a family with kids due to the deer liking kids.
Apparently Lucky wandered into town – Hay Springs – where (as the story goes) he was shot by a Nebraska Game Warden, apparently because the game warden “thought he was sick” because of his tame nature.
Now residents who were fond of Lucky have initiated a petition in Chadron, asking for the removal of the game warden from his post.
