Rolling Black Smoke

(MITCHELL, Neb ) — Scanner traffic indicated thick black smoke rolling from a residential area just before noon on Saturday.

Today at 11:57 a.m. the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a report of heavy smoke coming from a residence on 20th Avenue. When crews arrived it was found that a pickup was on fire near the residence.

The fire was quickly extinguished with no extension to the house. The only damage to the house was some melted siding.

MVFD responded with five trucks and six personnel.
