(OVERTON, Neb.) — An early Wednesday morning traffic accident closed down Interstate 80. Westbound lanes were closed for several hours. Unfortunately, the accident resulted in one fatality.
The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release yesterday and updated it today with the name of the deceased.
On February 12th, 2025, at approximately 5:36 a.m., the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office 911 Center was contacted about a possible accident at mile marker 245 on I-80. The investigation revealed that a secondary vehicle was westbound when it struck the trailer of a stationary semi and trailer.
The semi and trailer was stationary due to another semi on its side blocking both westbound lanes.
The driver of the secondary vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of both semis were not injured. The name of the deceased is Dejan Ajdanik of Chicago, Illinois.
