Bond Increased for Drug Charges

(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.) — A Scottsbluff man, Timothy Scheufele, is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor drug charges following a law enforcement investigation that led to a residential search warrant, his arrest and a subsequent bond increase in Scotts Bluff County Court.

According to court affidavits, the investigation began May 21, 2026, when officers conducted a traffic stop on Scheufele near East 15th Street and 15th Avenue for a turn signal violation. During a consensual search of his vehicle, officers discovered a baggie containing methamphetamine in the trunk. Scheufele was arrested and cited for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

On Aug. 26, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2500 block of Avenue D following surveillance and a confidential tip. Inside an upstairs bedroom containing Scheufele’s identification and mail, law enforcement recovered 150 M30 fentanyl pills, a digital scale, hundreds of distribution baggies and glass methamphetamine pipes.

Scheufele was subsequently charged with distribution of fentanyl, possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.

During a court appearance Sept. 9, 2026, Judge Andrea Miller reconsidered Scheufele’s original $11,500 bond. The court increased his bond to $20,000, with a 10% deposit required.

Under the modified terms, Scheufele is prohibited from leaving the state or changing his residence without court approval, must maintain contact with his attorney and must sign an extradition waiver.

Scheufele is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
