McCook Explosion

(MCCOOK, Neb.) — An explosion was heard in South McCook on Monday that prompted a medical response, including air support.

According to local businessman, Justin Harris, he had prior contact with a young man in the explosion.

“He’s only 24, and they don’t know what his condition is going to be… It sounds pretty serious.”

He went on to add, “The victim is Thatcher Skolout. He builds smokers and was getting ready to cut another propane tank open like he has many times. He’s only 24 they just bought a house. He married our old neighbor he worked for us for a little while back when he was in high school.”

Midwest Media by Melanie has been in contact with officials and family in McCook.

The situation is very serious as several prayer chains have begun.
