Hammer Assailant Sought

(GERING, Neb.) — Gering Police searching for suspect in assault with a hammer.

A man – Hispanic or Asian – approximately 5′8″ to 6 feet tall and stocky build is how a man attacked described his attacker.

Any residents in the area of 20th and R street in Gering, NE that may have video footage from late Wednesday morning are asked to contact the Gering Police Dept @ 308 436 5089.

According to law enforcement, officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of 20th Street at approximately 11:58 a.m.

A man went to his neighbor’s, bleeding from his head and face after being assaulted inside his home.

He said that while he was inside his house, another man he did not know came through the front door and began hitting him in the head with a hammer.
After some confrontation the other man left in a vehicle.

The man was treated on scene by members of the Gering Fire Department and then transported to Regional West Medical Center emergency room by Valley Ambulance.
