Pilot Survives Overton Plane Crash

(OVERTON, Neb.) – From Dawson County Sheriff’s Office

On July 24, 2024, at approximately 4:11 p.m. Dawson County Sheriff’s Office comunications center received an I-Phone crash indication at Road 76150 Road 444. As deputies arrived, they observed a crop duster plane had hit the power lines and crashed.

The pilot, Christian M. Timm, 23, of Eustis was at the scene. Overton Fire and Rescue transported Mr. Timm to Good Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Timm was applying chemical to a field for Johnson Lake Flying Service at the time of the crash. Mr. Timm’s landing gear struck an electrical wire pulling him down. The plane is a total loss.

Dawson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Overton Fire and Rescue, Nebraska Public Power District, Dawson Public Power District and Lexington Airport.
