Pine Bluffs Incidents

(PINE BLUFFS, Wyo.) — The Pine Bluffs Police Department would like to address two use of force incidents that happened over the weekend.

From Pine Bluffs Police Department

#1 On 02/08/2025 Officers were called to the Knotty Pine for a report of an intoxicated male attempting to drive from the bar, but going forward toward the building. PD Officer arrived and was able to stop the individual, shut the car off, and detain the male. During the subsequent DUI investigation the male became combative resulting in Officer, Deputy, and WHP Trooper to place the male in a “wrap.”  The wrap controls the subjects movement and doesn’t allow the person to strike Officers or harm themselves. The male was booked into the Laramie County Jail without further incident.

#2  On 02/09/2025 Pine Bluffs PD was called to assist Wyoming Highway Patrol for a report of an accident, with the driver suspected to be intoxicated. The driver was located at CR161 and CR210 and stopped. During the DUI investigation the male driver became combative and would not comply with the Officer. The male attempted to re-enter his vehicle to drive off and a taser device was used. However, the taser failed due to a battery malfunction, and the Officer was forced to subdue the male with physical force. The male was booked into the Laramie County Jail on multiple charges.

Pine Bluffs PD would like to thank the 4 members of the public, who called in or physically assisted our Officers in both incidents. Their help stopped a dangerous incident from becoming a major event or fatal accident.  Thank you to our law enforcement partners with Laramie County SO and WHP for their swift response as always!
