(MORRILL, Neb.) — Two women lost their lives Tuesday while navigating the construction area between Morrill and Mitchell, a familiar road for both drivers. One rollover accident caused a delay in the flow of traffic, which resulted in a secondary accident.
Below are the threads of scanner traffic as heard that evening.
September 23, 5:11 p.m. – According to scanner traffic, there is a report of a one-vehicle Ford Explorer rollover on Highway 26 at MM 9. Unknown if there are any injuries or road blockage yet.
Now reporting entrapment, vehicle is on its roof, multiple patients, male with head injury but concious and female unconcious and was ejected from the vehicle. CPR in progress. Please pray for all involved.
Highway shut down momentarily while AirLink lands to assist. Male passenger was flown into RWMC.
Unfortunately there was a death in this accident with scanner traffic indicating a blood draw being taken at the hospital. This is standard practice in any major accident. We are told that the Morrill Police Department knows the family and will be making notifications. Further State Patrol traffic also indicated police were making notifications.
Please pray for everyone involved.
We just got word that next of kin has officially been notified. Jennifer Branham posted in the thread asking what kind of vehicle it was, concerned because her mom wasn’t answering her phone.

Our hearts are broken for Jennifer and the rest of the family. May they somehow find some peace. We are so sorry for your loss. Please pray for Jennifer and the rest of the family and also our First Responders. Going to these scenes for the average person would be unbearable. Also a prayer for anyone who witnessed this. Lord, please give everyone involved a peace that surpasses all understanding.
Elissa Harvey (53) of Morrill died at the scene.

September 23, 7:38 p.m. – Scanner traffic is indicating more possible bad news. They are asking for Highway 26 to be shut down for another possible serious accident. This one is about 1-2 miles east of the earlier accident!
“CPR has been started”
This is going to be between mile marker 11 and mile marker 12 on Highway 26.
They are asking for AirLink and possible blood.
Use caution on Hwy 26 around County Road 10 and please pray for everyone involved.
Ambulances have been canceled. No need for airlink, or the blood. Please pray for the two tragedies this afternoon. There are a lot of hurting people right now.
UPDATE : another 10-65 (death) is confirmed and the Scotts Bluff County attorney has been notified.
Scanner traffic indicates that the Wyoming Highway Patrol is assisting with notification of Next of Kin.
These two accidents were related. A Morrill firefighter was directing traffic for the first accident when a Dodge pickup driven by the victim, Tamara Lee “Tami” Griffin (75) of Torrington, WY, failed to slow down and hit the fire department’s Chevy Silverado. The firefighter was able to get out of the way and was uninjured.
The community has come together in an effort to support the Harvey family during this tragic time. Besides her many friends, she leaves behind a large loving family that includes 6 children, 22 grandchildren, and many “bonus” grandkids who adored her beyond words.
Elissa’s daughter, Jessica, also posted that she needed help with final expenses after receiving a quote for cremation services of $4,200. Larry Massie of 11 13 Ministries has initiated a GoFundMe account for the family.
“We are starting this GoFundMe to help her family with funeral expenses and to honor her memory. Anything you can give whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this page means the world to the family. Please keep them in your prayers as they navigate this difficult time.” ~ Larry Massie

Tributes to Lis
For the last 22 years I have had one ride or die best friend and have been a part of her family and grew up with you all. My bonus mom passed away last night and I’m heartbroken for another loss in the family. I will miss my venting sessions with Elissa Dawn Harvey and all her random ass videos she would send me on the daily. She was always there for all her grandbabies and them not having her around anymore is the hardest part to think about. She was always willing to help anyone who needed it. I hope everyone can return that love to her family. I’m so so sorry Stephanie Branham Jennifer Branham Stephen Branham and Richie. Can’t believe this is happening. Truly one of a kind, Elissa was a selfless, free spirit…a kind-hearted, sweet soul always willing to help others, even when it came at a cost to herself. She viewed her time as a volunteer at 11 13 Ministries as an opportunity to serve others in her walk of faith. ~ Larry Massie
