On 02/09/2024 at approximately 1030 hours, Nicholas surrendered to the Kimball County Sheriff’s Office. We would like to thank the Kimball County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this investigation and for assisting in resolving this incident in a peaceful manner.

On 02/08/2024 at approximately 0826 hours, the Kimball Police Department received a report of a Domestic Assault and Terroristic Threats.
During the investigation, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, Nicholas King. During this attempted contact, Nicholas refused to cooperate with officers and locked himself inside his home.
At this time, multiple agencies became involved, as negotiation efforts ensued. Heavy law enforcement presence remained on scene while attempting to have Nicholas comply with law enforcement to exit his residence to be peacefully taken into custody. Efforts to arrest Nicholas were unsuccessful.

It was determined by law enforcement that it would be in the best interest of the public and immediate residents, to stand down from what had turned into a standoff. There is currently no threat to the public, and law enforcement is still attempting to make contact with Nicholas.
An arrest warrant was issued for Nicholas King for the following violations:
-Domestic assault
-Terroristic Threats
-Obstructing a peace officer
-KPD

Heavy police presence in the 300 block of Cedar. Public schools are on lockdown. For your safety, please keep away from the area and allow our officers to work.
