Aurora Borealis Photos

FIRST TIME in Nearly 20 YEARS!

The word is that there are Texas storm chasers that are coming up to Nebraska to view this rare weather phenomenon.

Viewing should be really good from just about anywhere north of the center of the U.S. as cloud cover is predicted to be low.

The Space Weather Prediction Center has issued a G4 (Severe) Geomagnetic Watch for May 11, 2024. Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) are anticipated to merge and arrive at Earth by late Friday or early Saturday. This will result in a chance to see the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights tonight. The forecast looks pretty good right now and calls for decreasing cloudiness.

We’ve collected several different graphics to help you learn more about the Aurora’s created by the pending geomagnetic storm.

We are equally excited by all the fantastic colors and the enthusiasm for capturing them. However, there are some important factors to consider as to why these incidents continue to intensify.

Regardless of the different theories, including including government interference with the weather and increased electronics dependence, we all believe that something should be done to protect our infrastructure from these giant magnetic storms.
