What I’m going to post here is something that was almost a very tragic accident.
I was at my crossing guard job, I had students standing and waiting to go across the street. I raised the STOP sign, and traffic had stopped, as the students started walking across the street, I noticed this pickup that kept creeping up to the cross walk. I stopped the kids and walked towards her to stop. She rolled the window down and told me I don’t need to yell at her, she didn’t do anything wrong. I told her she needs to stop until the students are gone, I told the kids to get back and she puts her pickup in reverse and 2” away almost struck 4 students as she backed up. I yelled at her to stop that she almost hit some students.
I was so concerned for the safety of the students that I didn’t get the license number, but it was a pickup. A witness called the police about the situation, so hopefully they got the license number.
So in all three vehicles went through the cross walk this afternoon and I had one this morning with about a 6” of scrapped frost off the windshield and about hit a student.
Please pay attention when driving!! I have seen too many accidents with serious injury, and I don’t want it to happen or see it again. I thank God he was protecting all of us today.
