Vendor Spotlight: Shane and Cassie Little

(MORRILL, Neb.) –Meet Shane and Cassie Little, the husband-and-wife team behind Little Acres Farm in Morrill, Nebraska!

About Them

Originally from Colorado, Shane and Cassie moved to Morrill nearly eight years ago after working as EMTs and firefighters. Today, Cassie farms full time while Shane works full time at Kotaco Fuels—but he still lends a strong hand on the farm whenever he can. What began as a small backyard garden grew into a passion for homesteading, preserving food, and eventually running a full-scale farm.

Cassie also co-manages the Morrill Farmers Market alongside Melanie Chapman. As market manager, she has a deep passion for bringing the community together, supporting small businesses, and helping neighbors lift one another up.

Their Dairy Journey

Little Acres Farm is home to a carefully selected herd of Nigerian Dwarf and Lamancha dairy goats. Nigerians are prized for their high butterfat content—perfect for rich, creamy cheese making—while Lamanchas are gentle, high producers with exceptionally long lactation cycles. To combine the best of both, the Littles crossbreed for Mini Lamanchas, blending quality, production, and personality.

With dedication and care, their herd has grown to about 21 goats. Cassie milks six daily, producing around two gallons of fresh goat milk. To ensure the highest standards of safety and quality, their milk is tested weekly, so customers can feel confident they’re getting nothing but the best.
